Yet another video game adaptation. It may turn out to be horrible, but the fanboys asked for it. Hitman, from the game series of the same name, revolves around an Agent Codename 47 who is a genetically cloned assassin for hire. While the background specifics were always nebulous, 47 (Timothy Olyphant) was, and is, a perfectionist who gets paid on a structure built on the quietness of the hits. With the military and Interpol running and gunning for his capture and execution, 47 is always on the run - and somehow protected by a secretive Agency that is part of an unofficial shadow government. It's the stuff of conspiracies... but we have yet to see how far the story will be taken in the movie version. Director Xavier Gens is not known for the most impressive of movies, but there will surely be explosions and action galore. Co-starring are Dougray Scott from Desperate Housewives and Robert Knepper from Prison Break.

Hitman opens in October.
