Fall Movie Preview: Shoot 'Em Up
There are some similarities to Owen’s previous blockbuster Children of Men – only in that he’s a loner hero who protects a child from killers. But unlike the more dramatic sci-fi flick (taken from author P.D. James’ canon), Shoot ‘em Up is all action all the time. It’s directed and written by Michael Davis, (formerly) a video game adaptation film director, who had a hard time selling the movie to studio executives. He had to go so far as to put together animations to show buyers what the movie would look like – a relentless barrage of intricately choreographed shootouts that are in no way achievable by the human body and normal physics. But who needs reality? It’s all about beautiful action.
Shoot 'em Up opens in September.

If you were unsure... yes, that's Monica Bellucci from the Matrix trilogy. Paul Giamatti had key roles in the Illusionist and Lady in the Water, and will be appearing in an interesting movie called Bubba Nosferatu and the Curse of the She-Vampires in 2008.
